Woman dies, man hospitalised after found in parked car in Miri

MIRI (Aug 22): A woman was pronounced dead after she was found together with a man in a car parked behind a hotel at Pelita commercial centre here today.

Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the woman, aged 21, was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.

“The unconscious man, who was still breathing when found, was rushed to Miri Hospital for treatment and is currently in the Red Zone,” he said when contacted by The Borneo Post.

Alexson said the initial investigation ruled out foul play, and called on the public not to speculate on the case.

“We are still investigating to ascertain what happened,” he added.

He also said the woman’s body was sent to Miri Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
