Two men were killed and four others were seriously injured in an accident that occurred in Presint 1, heading towards Taman Wetland, Presint 12, in Putrajaya this afternoon.
Putrajaya fire and rescue department operations assistant director M Haziq Hazmi said they received an emergency call via NG999 at 11.58am and a fire engine and an EMRS team was sent to the scene, Bernama reported.
They found a Proton Saga had skidded before hitting a tree on the side of the road. Several victims were thrown out of the vehicle on impact.
Haziq said six victims were involved in the accident, with two men confirmed dead at the scene.
Four other victims were sent to hospital for further treatment using the EMRS vehicle.
Firemen cut down trees to clear the road.
In another accident at Kampung Selepong Jinggau, Sri Aman, Kuching, this morning, three people were killed and five others injured in an accident involving two vehicles.
The accident involved two vehicles, a Proton X70 and a Perodua Alza. The Alza caught fire and was destroyed.
The three victims in the Proton X70, comprising a 70-year-old man and two women, each aged 22, were confirmed dead at the scene.
Two other passengers in the same vehicle, a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old boy, suffered head injuries and were sent to the Sri Aman Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, three victims in the Perodua Alza, consisting of an woman and two boys, managed to escape with minor injuries before the vehicle burst into flames.
