MIRI: The construction project at SK Rancangan Sepupok, Subis, is approaching its final stages, with completion expected by the end of October.

The project, which commenced under a 24-month contract, has achieved a progress rate of 95.25 per cent.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development (Infrastructure Development), Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, conducted a working visit to the site on today (Aug 5).

He was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus; and Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) director Dr Cassidy Morris.

This visit highlighted the “Cadangan Pembinaan Gantian Penuh” project, which involves the complete replacement of six classrooms, eight units of teachers’ quarters, a students’ dormitory, and additional facilities.

Commissioned by the Sarawak government, the project’s primary goal is to enhance educational quality, support community growth, and provide a conducive learning environment.

The newly constructed facilities aim to foster student development, attract families, and strengthen local engagement and investment in education.

The 200 students residing in the dormitories are among the primary beneficiaries of this initiative.

The project, designed to replace the dilapidated existing structures at SK Rancangan Sepupok, includes an extensive range of facilities.

These comprise an Administrative and Academic Block (6BD), a Pre-School Block, two dormitory blocks (Type 50 Students), a dining hall block, four blocks of Class D Quarters (Semidetached), a guard hut block, a Garbage Depot Block, a Pump House Block, and various external works.
