The prices of unsubsidised RON95 and RON97 petrol will go up from tomorrow, after recording declines over the past two weeks.
The finance ministry said the price of unsubsidised RON95 will rise by 10 sen to RM3.97 per litre, from RM3.87 previously, while RON97 will increase by 5 sen to RM4.90 per litre, from RM4.85.
Diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia remain unchanged at RM5.12 per litre.
Subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 programme will remain at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan stays at RM2.15 per litre.
Subsidised petrol under the subsidised petrol control system (SKPS) will remain at RM2.05 per litre, while subsidised diesel under the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS) will remain at RM2.15 per litre.
These prices are effective until May 6.
The finance ministry said oil prices remain elevated compared with pre-conflict levels, with supply disruptions caused by damage to production and refining facilities in the Middle East still affecting the market.
“The government urges the public to use fuel prudently to help maintain supply stability,” it said in a statement.
Nonetheless, it said the government will continue taking prudent steps to ensure that Malaysians do not fully bear the impact of rising global oil prices.
