Murder victim found with multiple gunshot wounds in Niah oil palm estate

MIRI (July 31): A 40-year-old man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at a private oil palm estate in Sepupok, Niah on Monday night.

Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the body was discovered at around 8pm.

“Police believe that the victim was a foreigner. Efforts to track suspects in this case are underway,” he said in a statement today.

When contacted, he revealed there were gunshot wounds found on the victim’s forehead, eye, neck, and stomach.

He said police are looking for eyewitnesses to assist with the investigation.

“Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he added.
