KUCHING, July 19: A total of 1,500 volunteers consisting of mainly youths, including university and school students, will serve during the Para Sukma 2024.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Deputy Minister of Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam said the volunteers have been trained to manage individuals with disabilities who often require assistance.

He said that it is not only an experience for them, but it also gives them a chance to contribute to Sarawak and ensure the success of the event.

Razi said this when met by a TVS reporter during an interview on July 18.

He added that Para Sukma  2024 will see athletes competing in 334 events in ten sports categories.

“This time, Sarawak aims to get 83 gold medals,” he said. — DayakDaily
