MIRI, Aug 5: The ongoing upgrading project on the road to Skim Rancangan Sepupuk Niah is currently at 91.2 per cent completion.

The project will positively impact 12 longhouses and three schools in the area—SK Skim Rancangan Sepupok, SMK Subis, and SMK Suai, benefiting approximately 3,000 residents.

The improvements promise enhanced safety, accessibility, and durability, boosting local connectivity, economic activity, and the overall quality of life.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, conducted a working visit to the project site recently accompanied by Dr Cassidy Morris, director of the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak.

Commissioned by the Sarawak government, the project aims to upgrade the road to Skim Rancangan Sepupuk Niah.

The contract, which commenced on February 13, has a duration of six months and is set to be completed by August 12.

The project includes the rehabilitation and resurfacing of approximately 14.957 kilometres of the existing premix road and the installation of road furniture. — DayakDaily
