KUALA LUMPUR: Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) is optimistic about attracting more investments to Sarawak after successfully showcasing the state’s industrial potential at the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) 2024.

RECODA chief executive officer Datuk Ismawi Ismuni said the expo, held as part of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2024, generated significant interest from global investors in the Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP) and the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE).

“The connections we have made reflect the keen interest from global investors in Sarawak’s industrial landscape. We are excited about the prospects and look forward to building on these connections,” he said in a statement.

Ismawi added that RECODA’s participation in SPARK 2024 allowed for productive discussions about the advantages of investing in SIP.

“The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing Sarawak’s position as a prime destination for industrial investment,” he added.

RECODA is confident that the inquiries generated during the expo will translate into concrete investments from Southeast Asian investors, aligning with its goal of improving the lives of Sarawakians through sustainable development.

SIP, a key focus of RECODA’s promotion, was highlighted as an industrial hub leveraging renewable energy. The park offers world-class infrastructure, strategic location, and a conducive business environment.

Beyond SIP, RECODA also promoted the potential of its three Regional Development Agencies, showcasing products like stingless bee honey, coffee, songket, and fish cage farming.
SIBS 2024 attracted 8,850 trade visitors from 25-27 July, providing a valuable platform for networking and engagement.
