MUKAH: The Used Cooking Oil Recycling Campaign ‘Exchange Waste Get Money’ has received a good response from Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) residents.
According to PMU’s statement, the objective of the campaign was to encourage people to recycle used cooking oil.
This campaign offers cash incentives to individuals who donate their used cooking oil.
The main goal of the campaign is to reduce environmental pollution by ditching the disposal of cooking oil away from the drainage system or the ground.
“In addition, it also increases community awareness about the importance of recycling and green practices,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the collection method of the used cooking oil was carried out in each house, whereby the cooking oil that has been collected will then be weighed.
The total weight of the used cooking oil will be recorded and submitted to the relevant agencies for a cash payment to the house owner.
The press statement added that the cumulative weight of used cooking oil collected during the campaign totaled 585 kilogrammes.
This campaign organiser collaborated with its partner, Sekitar Bumi Hijau Sdn Bhd to create community awareness on the importance of recycling.
