Search operation underway for missing 28yo man in Bau

KUCHING, Sept 18: A 28-year-old man has been reported missing after he failed to return home following a trip to his family’s farm at Kampung Fairy, Bidi, Krokong, Bau.

According to a statement by Bau District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, the man was believed to have left at about 10am on Sept 16, and his family reported him missing on Sept 17.

A search and rescue operation (SAR) was activated at 1.30pm on Sept 17 to locate him in the area where he was last seen.

The operation involved nine police personnel, six Bomba personnel, four Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) personnel, and 10 villagers.

Police are conducting searches in forest and plantation areas surrounding the location.

The man was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, long black track pants, and carrying a sling bag.

Police urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Bau Police Station at 082-763311 or the nearest police station. — DayakDaily
