KUCHING: Sime Darby Property Berhad cemented its commitment to sustainability and excellence by securing three awards at The Edge Malaysia Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards (BMSPA) 2024.

Sime Darby Property’s Group Managing Director Datuk Azmir Merican said the wins represented the company’s dedication to building sustainable communities, aligning with their purpose “to be a Value Multiplier for People, Businesses, Economies, and the Planet.”

“We are firm believers in innovation and keeping pace with industry trends, all while championing sustainable development.

“Our aim is to create an environment where people and nature can coexist harmoniously. With this long-term vision in mind, we will continue to strive for and improve sustainable living practices, ensuring a balance with nature,” he said in a statement following the awards ceremony held on Monday at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

Highlighting the achievements, he specified that Sime Darby Property’s KL East Park (Phase 1) clinched silver in The Edge Malaysia – ILAM Sustainable Landscape Awards 2024 for Landscape Design.

This award, he said, recognised the Group’s efforts in maintaining green spaces that not only bolster biodiversity but also offer serene environments for their communities.

He further said that Sime Darby Property’s first wholly-owned KL East Mall, also situated within the KL East township, secured bronze in the Below 10 Years: Retail category.

Additionally, PARC @ Taman Subang Ria received a Special Mention award in the Below 10 – Specialised category, acknowledging Sime Darby Property’s contribution to fostering vibrant and dynamic spaces.

“We are grateful to the esteemed panel of judges for recognising our accomplishments and validating our efforts.

“Our unwavering goal is to push the boundaries of sustainable development, ensuring that our projects have a positive impact on the environment and enhance the well-being of the communities we serve,” he added.
