Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development (Infrastructure Development), Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, visited the site this morning, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Women, Family, Welfare, Community Wellbeing and Childhood Development Sarawak Datuk Rosey Yunus who is also Bekenu assemblywoman, and Public Works Department (JKR) director for Sarawak Dr Cassidy Morris.

The project, commissioned by the Sarawak government, aims to fully replace six classrooms, eight units of teachers’ houses, a students’ dormitory, and various other facilities.

This development is set to significantly benefit the local community by enhancing the quality of education, supporting community growth, and providing a positive learning environment, said Aidel.

“It aims to foster student development, attract families, and strengthen local engagement and investment in education,” he added.

Notably, the new facilities will replace the dilapidated structures of the existing SK Rancangan Sepupok, providing improved accommodation for the approximately 200 students in the dormitories.

The scope of work includes the construction of an Administrative & Academic Block (6BD), a Pre-School Block, two Dormitory Blocks for 50 students each, a Dining Hall Block, four Blocks of Class D Quarters (semi-detached), a Guard Hut Block, a Garbage Depot, a Pump House Block, and extensive external works.

This project is poised to bring about significant improvements, marking a major step forward for education infrastructure in Subis. — DayakDaily
