ADVERTISE HERE
KUCHING (July 16): The Sarawak muaythai team is ramping up its preparations for the 21st Sukma with intensive training sessions abroad.
This was revealed by Sarawak State Muaythai Association (PMNS) president Jumaat Ibrahim.
“This strategy aims to enhance the skills and readiness of our athletes to compete at the highest level. That’s why international exposure for the team’s development is important.
“God willing, we will defend our status at the games,” he told a press conference here on Monday.
Sarawak secured two gold medals at the last Sukma held in KL two years ago.
Jumaat is confident that the Sarawak fighters will rise to the occasion and bring glory to the state. He stressed that the muaythai athletes are trained not only for the state but also for Malaysia at the international level.
“This progress is a source of pride for our association,” he said.
The muaythai competition during the 21st Sukma will be held at Paragon Mall court in Bintulu from August 15 to 20.
