Tourists from China, Perak visit longhouse in Ulu Dijih

SELANGAU (July 18): Fifty-eight tourists from China and Perak visited Rumah Simon Boom in Ulu Dijih here on Tuesday.

According to a Facebook post by DUN N59 Tamin, the group was accompanied by Kapitan Ting Hua Chuan along with 16 Chinese association members from Sibu.

Ting expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to the longhouse residents for their warmth and hospitality.

“I would also like to thank Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang for allowing the visitors to visit his ‘bilek’ (unit) and take many photos during their visit.

He added that the tourists praised the cleanliness of the longhouse and the beauty of its landscape.

“The hospitality of the longhouse residents will always be remembered by the visitors,” he said.
