KUCHING (July 17): The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended the royal banquet in conjunction with the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s 78th birthday celebration in Bandar Sri Begawan last night.
Also in attendance were Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, as well as Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and his wife Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud.
The event, which was held at Royal Dining Hall, lstana Nurul Iman, also saw the presence of Sarawak Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi.

According to Wan Junaidi’s official Facebook page, the banquet was the last event attended by Wan Junaidi and Fauziah before they proceeded to Kuala Lumpur for the installation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th King of Malaysia at Istana Negara this Saturday.
On Monday, Abang Johari was conferred the Bintang Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Pertama (PSNB) which carries the title ‘Dato Seri Setia’ by the Sultan of Brunei.
The investiture ceremony, in conjunction with His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration, took place at Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana, Istana Nurul Iman.
