In his closing remarks, Ting congratulated the winners and reminded them, as well as those selected, of their Sibu representation at the upcoming Kuching outing.
“To our champions and medallists, congratulations!
“Your hard work, countless training sessions, early mornings, and sacrifices have paid off.
“Wear your medals not only with pride, but also with humility.
“To those who did not finish on the podium, remember this – every champion was once a beginner who refused to give up.
“Growth happens in the tough matches, in the close defeats, and in the moments when you choose to try again.
“Keep training, keep believing, and your time will come,” he said.
Ting also pointed out badminton as not merely a sport, but also ‘a true test of character, demanding focus, resilience, quick thinking, and respect for one’s opponent’.
Among those present were Sibu Badminton Association vice president Philip Kong and secretary Penghulu Yong King Sung.
