KUCHING: The Band Lab is returning with the eagerly awaited second edition of its live orchestra concert, ‘An ACG Symphony,’ scheduled to be on August 10 at the Ang Cheng Ho Sport & Community Hall, Batu Kawa.
Building on the success of last year’s sold-out “An Anime Symphony,” The Band Lab promises an even more enchanting and immersive experience this year.
“This year’s “An ACG Symphony” is a celebration of ACG through the powerful medium of orchestral music.
“As Borneo’s first full live orchestra-themed ticketed event, The Band Lab has teamed up with the Kuching Choral Society and other local organisations to enhance the experience with new elements, including a choir, more cosplays, Chinese orchestra elements, and increased incorporation of digital and electronic music effects.
“This collaboration aims to captivate the audience and elevate the concert to unprecedented heights,” it said in a statement.
The concert will feature a 55-piece orchestra, a 30-piece choir, a dancer, and cosplayers, with the musicians themselves also in cosplay. The event will also showcase performances by local talents Ng Chien Chien, Christine Chai, Shann Liaw, and Dell Lawrence.
Highlighting the event will be Amelia Khor, a local cosplay sensation, community favorite, and anisong singer who has performed at ACG events in Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Additionally, the concert will feature meticulously curated repertoire featuring beloved melodies from iconic anime series and games such as Studio Ghibli classics, Genshin Impact, One Piece, Final Fantasy, Attack on Titan, Kimi No Nawa, Frieren, and more.
Early bird tickets, starting at RM59, are available on thebandlab.com/acg until July 5th.
