MIRI (Aug 7): A total of RM741,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds were distributed to 155 recipients from the Ba Kelalan constituency on Aug 5.
Only 35 recipients were present to receive the cheques from Ba Kelalan assemblyman Baru Bian at his service centre in Lawas.
They comprised village development and security committees, houses of worship, parent-teacher associations, non-governmental associations, as well as other associations.
Baru in his speech advised recipients to use the allocations wisely for the betterment of their communities and members.
He also thanked Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the allocation.
Present at the ceremony was a political secretary to the Premier, Sam Laya.
