KUCHING, June 16: The Education Fair and Sarawak Government Career Expo 2026 will gather 29 institutions and seven agencies under one roof on June 20, giving youths a direct gateway to education and career opportunities.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news in a press conference at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) headquarters here today, Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang said the programme serves as an important platform for students, graduates and youths to make better-informed decisions on their future pathways.

The programme, organised by SUPP Batu Kitang Youth Chief Alvin Chong, will start from 10am to 3pm at the SUPP headquarters here.

Among the participating institutions and agencies are Sarawak Skills, i-CATS University College, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, UCSI University Kuching, Technology College Sarawak, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Curtin University Malaysia, SEGi University & Colleges, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak, Mas Gading Community College, Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), Automotive and Welding Institute of Sarawak (AWISAR), the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), and Yayasan Sarawak.

He said youths would be able to obtain direct information from representatives on study programmes, entry requirements, scholarships, financial aid, and available career pathways.

The career expo will also feature several government agencies, including the Padungan Fire and Rescue Station, Royal Malaysian Customs Academy Sarawak, Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), Sarawak Land and Survey Department, Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), and the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) Sarawak.

He said the participation of these agencies will provide clearer exposure to youths on public sector roles and career opportunities, while also encouraging direct engagement with stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Chong said the programme is part of SUPP Batu Kitang Youth’s efforts to widen access to education and career information among young people and the general public. — DayakDaily
