Elderly dies after motorcycle skids under bus

BINTULU: A local man died on the spot when his motorcycle skidded and ended up underneath a bus along Mile 12, Jalan Bintulu-Samalaju this morning.

The accident happened around 7.05 am when the motorcycle and bus were moving in opposite directions.

Firefighters from Bintulu station who were dispatched to the scene had to extricate the victim as his motorcycle was sandwiched beneath the bus.

The victim, identified as 61-year-old Tang Ujum, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

His body was later taken to Bintulu Hospital for post-mortem procedures.
