KUCHING, June 22: Kapit is set to host the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 Programme, which is scheduled to take place at the Kapit Civic Centre this weekend (June 26-28).
According to a media release from the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU), the programme brings together various government agencies, statutory bodies, and strategic partners under one roof, making it easier for the public to access information, services, and assistance.
“This approach reflects the Sarawak government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development are enjoyed inclusively by all citizens, including communities in rural and remote areas,” said the media release.
Throughout the three-day event, visitors will have access to a wide range of exhibitions and service counters providing information on Sarawak government policies, programmes, and development initiatives.
The programme also offers members of the public the opportunity to interact directly with government agencies to obtain accurate information, advice and solutions related to various public service matters.
Among the key highlights of the programme is an information counter for the Sarawak Basic Needs Contribution (SKAS) 2026 initiative, where members of the public can obtain further clarification on eligibility requirements, assistance rates and the digital disbursement method through the SPay Global platform.
In the field of education, visitors will also be able to obtain information on the Sarawak Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES), including participating institutions, fields of study offered, and eligibility requirements.
For youths and job seekers, JobSarawak services will provide information on employment opportunities, career development and job matching offered by participating employers.
The programme will also feature various free health services, including health screenings, fitness assessments, and health exhibitions aimed at raising public awareness on healthy lifestyles and the importance of healthcare.
In addition, a variety of activities will also be held, including community sports events, cultural performances, and Konsert Rakyat.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate the Kapit Division SKS 2026 Programme on Saturday (June 27) at 10.30am.
“Members of the public, particularly residents of Kapit Division and surrounding areas, are invited to attend and take advantage of the various services, information and opportunities available throughout the programme.
“The programme not only brings government services closer to the people but also strengthens public understanding of Sarawak’s initiatives and development agenda for the collective well-being of all,” said the media release. — DayakDaily
