Gunshot shatters bank glass door in Sibu; police recover bullet casing, no injuries reported

KUCHING, Feb 16: Police are investigating a gunshot incident that shattered the glass door of a bank at Jalan Ulu Lanang in Sibu yesterday afternoon, with no injuries reported.

Sibu District Police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed that a report had been lodged over the incident, which occurred around 3pm.

According to a report by Bernama, initial investigations found that two men were riding a motorcycle when one of them allegedly fired a single shot at the bank’s glass door before fleeing the scene.

Police recovered one spent bullet casing and one live round at the location, believed to be linked to the incident.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the motive and track down the suspects involved.

The case is being investigated under Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960. — DayakDaily
