‘Karnival Jom Heboh’ returns to Miri after 19 years

MIRI: Good news for Sarawakians! ‘Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026’ returns to Miri with three days of entertainment, family activities and exciting experiences at Miri Boulevard.

Nineteen years after its inaugural event in the city, the carnival will return from September 25 to 27 with activities for families and the local community.

Held in collaboration with the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP), ‘KJH Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026’ will feature more than 160 booths, interactive activities, sports and performances.

Among the activities are the Ethnic Queen Show, Drama Sangat Karaoke Competition, Buletin Challenge, Kids Colouring Contest, Zumba and Jom Lokal Jam.

The programme will also include ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions with TV3 drama actors Muaz Zabir, Daniel Fong, Nafiz Muaz, Jazmy Juma, Shamim Freida and Amzar Airil.

The presence of Media Prima personalities will add further colour to the carnival, with Mior Abdul Malek Raiyani, Deerina Sheikh Faisal, Asri Badrun, Fatin Hanani Sahimi, Ayu Hot FM and Jamal Jamaluddin Kool FM set to take part in various interactive segments and meet visitors.

Additionally, booths will be set up by agencies under MTCP, entrepreneurs under the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED), as well as participating brands including Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS), AFFIN Bank, F&N, Caring Pharmacy, Fearnleaf and Bursa Malaysia.

Free health and dental screenings will also be available throughout the carnival.

For running enthusiasts and those who enjoy healthy activities, the ‘Jom Heboh Fun Run Lari Baik-Baik bersama KWSP’ event also returns to Sarawak for the second time following an encouraging response to its previous edition in Kota Samarahan.

Participants can choose between the 5km and 8km categories, while the 5km category will also offer a Family Package for four participants.

After exploring the carnival grounds, it will be time to head to the main stage and enjoy the weekend highlight through the ‘Konsert Jom Heboh Cara U Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026 Miri’ event, presented by U Mobile as the concert’s main sponsor.

Performers on September 26 include K.O.I, Nabila Razali, Man Bai, Mary Grace and Fieya Julia, while Baby Shima, Rahmad Mega, Nadeera, Lan Solo and Floor 88 are scheduled to perform on September 27.
