MIRI (July 23): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak has slammed the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission of Malaysia (SKM) for delays in approving applications.
PKR Sarawak state leadership council chairman Roland Engan said the commission should simplify its registration approval process to solve such delays.
“Specifically, I was involved in the follow-up of the registration of a co-operative for the residents of Baram, Miri, Sarawak.
“The registration certificate has not yet arrived at the Miri branch office while the certificate was received almost a month ago by the Malaysian Co-operative Commission office in Kuching, Sarawak,” he said.
He called upon the authorities to take immediate steps to simplify all matters of application and approval as well as the submission of co-operative registration certificates for the good of the people.
At present applications to establish a co-operative must be submitted to the respective state office.
Application forms can be obtained from SKM offices or downloaded from the website.
Applications can also be submitted via the SKM Online Application System.
