KUCHING: A total of 189 individuals received the Diamond Jubilee Commemorative medals in honour of Sarawak’s 60th anniversary of independence.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg presented the medals during an investiture ceremony at the State Legislative Assembly Complex (DUN) today (July 4).
The ceremony commenced with the awarding of the Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Medals (Gold) (Pingat Peringatan Cemerlang Jubli Intan Emas) to five recipients.
Leading the list was Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali, followed by Deputy Digital Minister Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong and Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Murshid Diraja Dr Juanda Jaya.
The other Gold recipients were Malaysian powerlifting champion Bonnie Bunyau Gustin and Datuk Chin Jiew Bui.
Afterwards, a total of 184 recipients were awarded the Diamond Jubilee Excellent Commemorative Silver medals.
