Pang partners up with Sarawak Premier’s political secretary Angellie Stephen Raja in the Ukas pickleball friendly

BINTULU (Feb 15): A pickleball friendly game organised by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) here was viewed as a way to promote healthy and active lifestyle to the community.

This was highlighted by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming in his remarks for the opening of ‘UKAS Get-Together 2026’ programme at Kenyalang Pickleball Central here on Saturday.

Pang said the venue was a familiar one to him, where he would occasionally go to unwind with a friendly game of pickleball amidst his busy schedule.

“Sometimes, all we need is a little movement to reset and refocus,” he said in his speech.

The assemblyman also commended Ukas for organising the programme.

According to him, sports such as pickleball not only encourage one to maintain good physical wellbeing, but can also help strengthen teamwork and foster camaraderie among members across departments.

“On the court, there are no titles – just teammates, healthy competition and plenty of laughter,” he added.

Pang also noted that the event coincided with Valentine’s Day, and in this respect, he reminded those present to not only celebrate the occasion with their loved ones, but to also take the opportunity to practise self-care.

“Staying active and taking care of our health are among the best forms of self-love,” he pointed out.
