KUCHING: Miss Stellar World Malaysia Borneo 2024 director Kimi Tomas has high hopes for her winners at the upcoming national competition in August.

“My queens going to KL on August 3, I know this is a first-time experience for most of you.

“I hope you learned a lot during the coaching trip and the Borneo finale. Most importantly, I hope you win at the national level for Malaysia!” she told reporters after the Grand Riverine Ballroom announcement of winners on Sunday.

Her ambition is clear: for a Bornean representative, either from Sabah or Sarawak, to take the national crown and represent Malaysia in Atlanta, United States (US).

“I truly believe a Borneo beauty can win internationally in the US,” she added.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the pageant’s focus was on women’s empowerment.

As the participants strutted down the runway in stunning Borneo batik attire, she noted that it showcased elements of women’s strength and confidence.

This pageant, she said, was about more than just physical beauty.

“It’s about the beauty within these incredible Bornean ladies,” she said.

Kimi added that the categories – Miss, Mrs, and Elite – go beyond aesthetics.

“It’s also about your contributions to the community over the past three months, since May. What did you achieve? Did you make a positive impact?”

She congratulated all category winners for their outstanding performances.

“You all did an amazing job, especially with the traditional costumes.

“They were truly stunning! This is how we showcase and promote the rich cultures of Sabah and Sarawak,” she said.

Kimi pledged to continue this pageant journey for Borneo, seeking continued support.

“Let’s work together and support each other to further promote our beautiful Borneo,” she added.
