MBDC delegation discusses with Dr Hazland on advancing green technology

KUCHING (July 3): Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni received a courtesy visit from the (MBDC) at his office recently.

The visit by the delegation led by the corporation’s senior vice president of the Industry Development Division, Soeraya Satem Ahmad, was to enhance and enlighten on MBDC’s role under the Ministry of Science and Technology Malaysia (Mosti).

“Discussions centred on fostering cooperation with MEESty (Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak) to advance green technologies, particularly in Bioenergy. MBDC presented various grants provided by Mosti to start-up companies in Research and Development.

“The meeting focused on Bioenergy to gather current insights into energy sector developments in Sarawak. Mosti, through MBDC, has allocated development and research grants to further explore this field,” added a statement issued by Dr Hazland’s office yesterday.

The statement also said that grants discussed included the RM500,000 Applied Innovation Fund, RM1 million for Technology Development Fund 1, RM3 million for Technology Development Fund 2, RM5 million for the Bridging Fund (BGF), and RM15 million for the Strategic Research Fund (SRF) – APP.

The statement said that the initiative underscores Malaysia’s commitment to advancing sustainable technologies and fostering innovation in the bioeconomy sector.
