BINTULU, July 3: “Do not question Sarawak’s loyalty to Malaysia,” says Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice president Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi.
He said Sarawak has absolute loyalty to the Malaysian government and that Sarawak will remain in the Federation of Malaysia.
Meanwhile, he asserted that Sarawak is only requesting for its eroded rights to be reinstated and nothing more than that.
“In the Federation of Malaysia, we are (Sarawak is) 100 per cent loyal to the Federal government. So, there is nothing to be worried about.
“Do not question our loyalty to Malaysia. We (Sarawak) will remain in Malaysia. All we need is what is due to us. No more, no less.
“That is the general view of Sarawak,” he said in a press conference to announce the Sarawak Day celebration at the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) office here today.
Dr Rundi said the coming celebration on July 22 in Bintulu would focus on highlighting several developments and achievements of Sarawak as a region in Malaysia.
He said Sarawak’s involvement in green energy development is an important contribution not only to Malaysia but the whole world in tackling climate change.
“Therefore, the celebration this year has a bigger meaning in terms of our contribution to the world and Malaysia. We must celebrate together and as Sarawakians, we must be proud of our achievements,” he added. — DayakDaily
