KUCHING, July 13: Police have arrested a 22-year-old local man and seized approximately 5.46kg of suspected cannabis worth an estimated RM16,367.97 during an operation in the Taman Samarindah area in Samarahan on Sunday (July 12).

According to the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters’ (IPD) Facebook post, the cause is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Police said the successful operation reflects the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) continued commitment to combating drug trafficking to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

The public is also urged to continue providing information on drug abuse and trafficking activities, stressing that community cooperation is vital in the fight against drug-related crime. — DayakDaily
