KUCHING (July 30): Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua No. 3 Kuching splashed to victory as overall champions with a tally of 544.50 points at last weekend’s 7th PASC Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition.
Their team of 43 swimmers successfully defended the title after outpacing Lodge International School (500.50 points) and SJK Chung Hua No. 5 (387).
The school also the Boys Team award with 327.50 points while Lodge International School, with 35 swimmers, emerged as Best Girls Team (309.50).
Podium finishers, along with the Best Boy and Best Girl in each age group from Primary 1 to 6, received medals and trophies from Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng who represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian at the closing ceremony.
Organised by the Power Aquatics Swimming Club (PASC) at the Sarawak Sports Complex swimming pool, the meet attracted 292 swimmers from 35 schools, the highest number of participants in the competition to date.
Swimmers competed in individual and relay events in all strokes over distances from 50 to 100m.
Also present at the closing ceremony were Sarawak Sports Corporation CEO Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan and PASC president Kapitan Tan Kun Gee.
